About This Map

Every pin sourced from our own database (480 stores across 46 states) represents a specific retailer with a documented, publicly announced major-prize win — not a generic chain location. Texas pins are pulled live from the Texas Lottery's own public winner-locations API and refresh hourly. Store popularity for lottery sales has more to do with foot traffic and ticket volume than any property of the location itself — buying at a "lucky" store doesn't change your odds on any individual ticket.

How to Use the Map

Zoom in on any region to see individual retailer pins color-coded by the size of the largest prize sold there — green for under $10,000, yellow for $10,000 and up, orange for six-figure prizes, and red for prizes of $1 million or more. Tap or click any pin to see that store's name, address, number of documented wins, and the game that produced its biggest payout. The search box accepts a ZIP code, city name, or state and will center the map on that location so you can scan for winning stores near a specific area. The prize filter above the map lets you hide smaller wins and focus on just the six- or seven-figure hits if that's what you're after.

Why Some Areas Show More Pins Than Others

A dense cluster of pins around a major metro area is almost always a function of population and ticket sales volume, not luck concentrated in that region. States that sell more lottery tickets overall — because they have more people, more retailers, or simply higher participation — will statistically produce more winning tickets over time, the same way a coin flipped a million times produces more heads than one flipped a hundred times. Rural areas and states with smaller populations will naturally show fewer pins even though the underlying odds for any given ticket are identical wherever it's purchased. If you're comparing two states or two cities, the number of pins tells you about sales history, not about where you're more likely to win next.

This map focuses on retailers with a documented, publicly reported major win — it is not a complete directory of every store that sells lottery tickets in the United States, which would run into the hundreds of thousands of locations. For a comprehensive, state-by-state list of every licensed retailer (winning history or not), see the full retailer directory, which draws on official state open-data portals where available. This map is best used to explore documented winning locations and get a feel for where major prizes have historically been sold — not as a tool for predicting where the next winning ticket will come from, since past results have no bearing on future drawings.
